Established in 1996, BICC Cables is a company headquartered in Cairo that manufactures a wide variety of wire and cable products for the electricity markets, including low-voltage insulated power and control cables, building wire, instrumentation cable, halogen-free power and control cables, and overhead power cables.
In 2016, Amana Group acquired General Cable Egypt from US-based General Cable, a Fortune 500 company, and later renamed it as BICC Cables. The company is a great addition to the group because of its profitable track record and a capable management team boasting great technical knowhow. The company also has considerable growth prospects as the construction sector in Egypt is growing and there are significant export opportunities to African and Arab countries.
BICC Cables is certified with quality management system ISO 9001:2015, and health and safety management OHSAS 18001.
BICC manufactures low voltage cables in its factory in Egypt according to British Standards and International Specification IEC requirements. However, production according to different standards and requirements may be provided to meet the specific needs of customers.
BICC’s plant is run by proficient management and technical teams who ensure the production of cables with the highest international standards and diligently work towards customer satisfaction. The factory is capable of manufacturing and supplying power cables in the following ranges:

- CU/PVC 450/750V Flex
- CU/PVC/PVC 600/1000V
- CU/XLPE/PVC 600/1000V
- AL/PVC 450/750V
- AL/PVC/PVC 600/1000V

Starting from 2018, BICC Cables undertook the first phase of its expansion plan consisting of improving the capacity and the quality of its production and enlarging its premises. In this regard, BICC invested in three highly efficient Italian production lines which became fully operational in 2019.
The company also started building a new shed to extend the manufacturing space and is expected to double its operational area by 2020. BICC will subsequently be able to move forward with the second phase of its expansion plan consisting of installing a new medium & high voltage production lines.
